Our Story

We make our home in downtown Chattanooga, TN. The James Building was the tallest building at twelve stories when built in 1907. Known as the skyscraper of the South, the James Building was added to the National Historic Register in 1984. The quality of marble and intricate design of the foyer’s egg & dart molding reflect our own commitment to quality workmanship and timeless design.

Providing an exceptional experience through the cloth and service are at the core of Bruce Baird & Co. The cloth used in the tailoring of fine clothing is vitally important to us. This is one reason we chose the symbol of the lamb to represent our company. The lamb and the wool serve as a reminder to each customer that we are committed to selling only the highest quality of men’s clothing, both in materials and workmanship.

Our knowledgeable and caring staff are dedicated to enriching your time here through product knowledge, outfit design and wardrobe consultation. We can show men how to dress for a round of golf to a black tie event, and everything in between. We will empower you with sartorial knowledge so your wardrobe will reflect your lifestyle and personality. Our apparel is not made to define you, but to punctuate who you already are.

Gentlemen accustomed to tasteful, refined and understated apparel, meticulously tailored in the finest materials, know we are their resource for beautifully balanced, proportional and comfortable clothing.

We carry the most recognized names in fine clothing: Oxxford Clothes, Hickey Freeman and Southwick. Other well-known lines include: Alden Shoes, Gitman Bros., Brax, R. Hanauer, Carrot & Gibbs, Torino Belts, Robert Jensen, Royal Highnies, JZ Richards, Bills Khakis, Barbour, and W. Kleinberg.
